Lawless received 2 1/2 stars from Roger Ebert and currently has a 65% on the Tomatometer (and an 85% from the audience). The New York The Hollywood Reporter calls it “a highly entertaining tale set in a vivid milieu” while Time Magazine describes it as “lifeless.” Reaction on Twitter appears to be positive for the most part, but I don’t see the filming cracking the $15 million dollar mark in its opening weekend. This could be an incredibly slow Labor Day weekend for the box-office.
